SHILLONG, Feb 1: National People’s Party (NPP) MLA from Mawryngkneng, Pyniaid Sing Syiem, has resigned from the post of chairman of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).
As per sources, Syiem, who is also an MDC from Sohryngkham recently submitted his resignation to the secretary of the KHADC Legislative, in order to pave way for chairmanship of his senior party MDC from Mawphlang, Lamphrang Blah.
“I would be more than happy to allow Blah to take the chairman’s post,” Syiem said.
However, he mentioned that the decision will be ultimately taken by NPP national president, Conrad K Sangma, national vice president, Prestone Tynsong, and senior party leader, Sniawbhalang Dhar.
