Shillong, Feb 4: No sooner had Congress MDC Fantin J Lakadong decided to leave the party and join the ruling NPP, rumours are doing the rounds in the state that his wife and Congress leader Ampareen Lyngdoh is likely follow suit.
Talking to The Shillong Times Ampareen Lyngdoh today asserted she is a member of the Indian National Congress but added that her fate as a Congresswoman will be decided as and when the political uncertainty in the state stabilises.
On her husband leaving Congress, Lyngdoh said she would not like to disrupt the way he leads the people and respects his decision.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister and NPP leader Prestone Tynsong said their doors are always open for anyone to join the party
Earlier, Congress MDC from Laitumkhrah-Malki, Fantin Joseph Lakadong decided to leave the party and join the NPP based on recommendations of his supporters.
