Collingwood appointed Eng interim coach
London, Feb 7: Paul Collingwood has been appointed as England’s interim men’s head coach for the three-match Test series against the West Indies in March. Collingwood was serving as assistant coach to Chris Silverwood, who left his role as head coach last week after England’s 4-0 Ashes defeat to Australia. Ashley Giles and Graham Thorpe also lost their jobs as men’s managing director and batting coach respectively. Collingwood took charge of the England team when they lost the T20I series to West Indies 3-2 last month. Collingwood is taking a break in Barbados before joining the England team arriving in Antigua on February 25. (IANS)

Dubai, Feb 7: Tickets for the men’s T20 World Cup in Australia have gone on sale, giving fans an opportunity to secure their seats for the event scheduled from October 16 to November 13. Tickets are available on t20worldcup.com from Monday for all 45 matches, including the final, which will be played at the MCG on November 13. “Children’s tickets are available for every First Round and Super 12 match from $5, with adult tickets available at selected matches at each venue from $20,” the ICC said in a statement. It’s the first time that Australia will host T20 cricket’s global showpiece for men, with matches to be played in Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. (PTI)

Hardik to skip Ranji Trophy
New Delhi, Feb 7: All-rounder Hardik Pandya will skip the Ranji Trophy starting on February 10 to focus on his India comeback in white-ball cricket. Kedar Devdhar was named skipper of Baroda on Monday. Vishnu Solanki was named Devdhar’s deputy as the Baroda Cricket Association announced a 20-member squad ahead of the first phase of the tournament. However, Hardik’s name is missing from the squad. Hardik has remained on the sidelines ever since the T20 World Cup last year, making himself unavailable for national selection due to back injury and further rehabilitation. (PTI)
