Four deaths, 158 fresh cases

SHILLONG, Feb 8: The state on Monday recorded 158 fresh cases of COVID-19 while four more patients succumbed to the viral infection in the past 24 hours taking the death toll to 1,552.
Two deaths were reported in Ri-Bhoi and one each in North Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills.
The active tally stands at 1,208 while 89,761 people have recovered from the viral infection including 285 on the day.
52 fresh cases were detected in East Khasi Hills, 35 in West Garo Hills, 21 in West Jaintia Hills, 17 in Ri-Bhoi, eight in East Garo Hills, six in North Garo Hills, four each in Eastern West Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills, three each in East Jaintia Hills, South Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills and two in South West Garo Hills.
Meanwhile, data released by the Health department said that the government has conducted close to 13.4 lakh tests for COVID-19 so far.
On the vaccination front, the state has inoculated 23,08,830 lakh people with atleast one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
9,40,737 beneficiaries have been administered both doses of vaccine so far, the department said.
