Meghalaya to kick-start Ranji campaign against Kerala

Shillong, Feb 9: Meghalaya will begin their historic elite group season of Ranji Trophy cricket on 17 February against Kerala.
Meghalaya have been drawn with Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat in Elite Group A, the first time the state will be participating at this level.
All of the four-day matches in the group will be played in Rajkot, Gujarat, which falls under the Saurashtra Cricket Association.
A preparatory camp for the players ran from 6 to 8 February at the MCA Ground, Polo, here. The three guest professional players – Punit Singh Bisht, Chirag Khurana and DB Ravi Teja – joined the rest of the squad directly today in Rajkot.
Meghalaya had a dream run in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy, finishing second in the Plate Group.
They hammered Sikkim by 164 runs in their opening match before snatching a 1-run victory over favourites Bihar later.
The inspired Meghalaya side went on to defeat Manipur before defeating Mizoram by 19 runs in their fourth game. They eventually lost the last match to Tripura.
