SHILLONG, Feb 17: Following allegations of misappropriated funds within the body, the East Khasi Hills Local Taxi Welfare Association (EKHLTWA) saw its dissolution after the executive committee decided to resign on Thursday.
Talking to reporters, EKHLTWA adviser, Disparsing Rani said that all the members of the association’s executive committee unanimously decided to resign from their respective positions.
Claiming that during their tenure the committee never resorted to collecting any funds, Rani said,
“We are really hurt by the allegations made by some of the members that we have misutilised the funds of the association.”
“We have been part of the EC of the association since 2011. Let the new body of the EC run the show now,” Rani added.
