Exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav inaugurated in city

SHILLONG, Feb 17: A two-day exhibition cum awareness campaign on ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and ‘COVID Appropriate Behaviour’ was inaugurated at Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong on Thursday. It was inaugurated by the director of the school, Fr Saji Stephen.
Director ROB Shillong, Dr Engam Pame, in his welcome address explained the purpose behind holding this exhibition. He said that ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
In his speech, principal, Don Bosco Technical School, Fr Arcadius Puwein who also acted the guest of honour, exhorted the youth to follow the noble principles and ideals of the great freedom fighters in spreading brotherhood and unity in the country.
Remembering the bravehearts who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our nation, Fr Stephen said that he feels proud to call himself an Indian.
He also appealed to all the participants that with the celebration of 75 years of Independence, the responsibility falls upon the citizens to uphold and work towards the dreams that our freedom fighters envisioned for this country.
