TURA, Feb 17: The picket of the Garo Hills Autonomous District (GHADC) by a conglomeration of NGOs from the region, seeking the ouster of the Council CEM Rakesh Sangma, completed its third day on Thursday.
The four-day picket is the fourth phase of the non-cooperation movement by NGOs that comprise GSU, FKJGP, ADE, AYWO, AHAM, among others. They have been vehemently clamouring for the removal of Rakesh Sangma as the GHADC CEM.
“We will continue this fight until our demands are met as our demands are genuine and concerns each and every member of our community,” said FKJGP president, Pritam Arengh.
