SHILLONG, Feb 18: The state government has awarded four of the five MLAs, who recently pledged their support to NPP-led MDA coalition government, with plum posts of Co-Chairman of different government agencies in the state.
According to a government notification which was issued on Thursday, Mohendro Rapsang and PT Sawkmie have been made co-chairman of the Meghalaya New and Renewable Energy Development Agency with perks and facilities under Category “A+”.
It may be recalled that five Congress MLAs — PT Sawkmie, Mohendro Rapsang, Ampareen Lyngdoh, Mayralborn Syiem and Kimfa Marabaniang — had extended their support to the MDA Government in the state.
Further, Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem was given the post of Co-Chairman of Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and Kimfa Marbaniang has been made Co-Chairman of Meghalaya Government Construction Company (MGCC).
