2nd Div Football: Marbisu reach semis after 2-1 win

SHILLONG, Feb 19: Marbisu confirmed their place in the Shillong Sports Association Second Division football semi-finals after a tight 2-1 win against Mawryngkneng in Group A, here on Saturday. Marbisu and Mylliem are the two clubs to qualify for the last-four stage from the group. With the defeat, Mawryngkneng will finish at the bottom of the group and face relegation next season. Seiborlang Nongbri scored twice for Marbisu (42′, 76′) while Refermer Pale was Mawryngkneng’s goal scorer, finding the back of the nets in the 63rd minute. On Monday, Umphrup SC face Sohiong SC at 2:45 pm.
