Tura, Feb 22: Another complaint has been filed against GHADC MDC from Zikzak, Akthar Ali for allegedly abandoning a PMGSY road project which was allotted to him before he was elected as an MDC.

Earlier, local people from the area had just recently filed a complaint against Ali for another pending road project under the same scheme.

The complaint, this time, addressed to the South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, was filed by the Zikzak unit of the GSMC against the incompletion of the 11 kilometre stretch of the PMGSY road from Zikzak to Katuligre.

“Due to the rains which began early this year, the incomplete road is posing grave inconveniences to the local people as it has become muddy and difficult to navigate. Besides, road building material is lying strewn on both sides of the road which makes walking on it difficult for people who want to avoid the mud,” the committee said, and urged the Deputy Commissioner to look into the matter and ensure that the road is completed without further delay.
