1st Div Cricket: Riatsamthiah beat Matri Sangha by 70 runs

SHILLONG, Feb 24: Riatsamthiah CC came out on top with a 70-run win over Matri Sangha CC in a Shillong Cricket Association First Division match, here on Thursday. Earlier, Matri Sangha won the toss and chose to field first as Riatsamthiah scored 173/8 in 35 overs. Player-of-the-Match Adarsh Joshi was the top-scorer with 56 runs coming off 74 balls. For Matri Sangha, Sunny Chettri bowled claimed figures of 3/33 from 7 overs while Ravi Sunar took 3/36. Matri Sangha were unable to build any partnerships and were eventually bowled out for 102 in 24.4 overs with Shivakant Dubey’s 36 being the highest score of the innings. Shembhalang Pyngrope bowled an excellent spell, returning figures of 5/22 in 7 overs while Bikash Singha took 3/20 from 4 overs to give Riatsamthiah a 70-run win.
