Former Home minister no more

TURA, Feb 24: Former Home (Prisons) minister, Norwin B Sangma passed away late Wednesday night at his residence at Tura’s Bonepa locality. He was 83.
Late Sangma was first elected to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in 1983 and retained his seat for two consecutive terms. He was later inducted to the state cabinet and was given the portfolio of Home (Prisons).
Before joining politics, Sangma worked as a teacher in Tura MP School and later served the people of Dadenggre as a block development officer.
