Local run over by vehicles in President’s convoy in Bokakhat town

Guwahati, Feb 26: One person was run over by the last three vehicles of the long convoy of vehicles that was taking the President Ram Nath Kovind from the helipad at Bokakhat town to Kaziranga National Park in Assam this afternoon.

The vehicles ran over a local resident of Bokakhat identified as Rameswar Ravidas, on the highway in front of JDSG College in Bokakhat town. The person died on the spot.

Meanwhile, the jeep safari of Kaziranga National Park that was scheduled to be undertaken by the President in Bagori Range of the Park was cancelled. However, the Park authority informed that the First Lady, Sabita Kovind and daughter Swati Kovind went on the jeep safari while the President preferred to take rest after taking lunch.

President Kovind is scheduled to undertake elephant safari from Mihimukh riding point in the central range of the national park tomorrow morning.
