SHILLONG, March 1: Laitkor beat Marbisu 3-2 on penalties to qualify for the final of the Shillong Sports Association Second Division football league after some tense moments, here on Tuesday. The result ensures Laitkor and Mylliem earn promotion to next season’s First Division league. Earlier, it was Marbisu that broke the deadlock in the 50th minute through Anderson Nongdhar to gain an crucial lead. However, a stoppage-time equalizer by Risuklang Malngiang saw Laitkor crawl back into the match. With no goals in extra time, the match was taken into penalties after which Laitkor emerged triumphant 3-2.
