Delhi Divas defeat defending champions Kochi Stars 15-7

SHILLONG, March 9: Delhi Divas emerged victorious in Round 1 of the 3BL women’s league action today defeating defending champions Kochi Stars 15-7.
The tournament is being played at the Wyndham Hotel, Mohali from the March 8-21 and features top national and international men’s and women’s 3X3 basketball players.
Delhi Divas was led by senior national women’s team player Raspreet Sidhu who was also adjudged Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the game while Kochi Stars was being led by 6 feet 1-inch National women’s basketball player Stephy Nixon.
Delhi Divas bt Kochi Stars 15-7 in the Round 1 Women’s finals. The Divas had lost against defending champions Kochi in the earlier pool stages.
Despite an ankle injury suffered by Tavleen Bhandal, Delhi maintained its momentum to keep increasing its lead. Delhi’s defence was particularly top notch against Kochi, restricting them to just 7 points.
Divas were served by the inspirational play of captain Raspreet Sidhu, who has also been a star player on the Indian national women’s team.
3BL is India’s only Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and International Basketball Federation (FIBA) backed 3×3 Pro Basketball League.
The third season of the League is underway in Chandigarh, between 8-21 March 2022, and will take place over six two-day rounds.
Besides the chance to win each round, top teams also get the exclusive opportunity to compete at FIBA 3×3’s international circuit such as Challengers and World Tours.
