Cleaning drive of Kwai river
The cleaning drive is under way.

SHILLONG, March 15: As part of the International Day of Action for Rivers, Moolamylliang Biodiversity Management Committee (MBMC) along with the Moolamylliang Upper Primary School and Moolamylliang District Council Lower Primary School on Monday organised a cleaning drive of the banks of Kwai river. The cleaning drive was attended by MBMC Chairman DL Rymbai, teachers and students of the aforesaid schools, and executive members of the Dorbar Shnong. “The MBMC will continue to organise awareness programmes on the need to preserve and protect the river along with the Dorbar Shnong,” Joint Secretary of MBMC, Appor Dkhar, said. It may be mentioned that the Kwai river caters to the village locals, especially during the winter season.

Webinar talks digital economy

SHILLONG, March 13: With the objective to deliberate over the present-day digital economy, a webinar was organised on ‘Indian Growth Model’, based on a book titled ‘The Mahalanobis Gowth Model – A Macrodynamics Approach’ by Prof Chetan Ghate, Dr Pawan Gopalakrishnan and Srishti Grover, who were also the resource persons for the webinar. The webinar was organised by the Department of Economics, Sankardev College, Shillong, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai, with the support of their respective Principals and IQAC. The target group of the webinar was faculty members of various colleges and universities as well as research scholars from the Northeastern region and the country.
