SHILLONG, Mar 23: Alleging involvement in an assault case, an FIR was filed against the  information secretary of Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP), Reginald Thabah on Wednesday.

The FKJGP leader was then summoned by the police for participating in the assault incident which had reportedly taken place at Sawlad Demseiñiong on Tuesday night.

After coming out of  Sadar police station here, the FKJGP leader, however, denied being involved in it.

He instead demanded that the police should file a suo moto case against a group of miscreants who were in an inebriated condition and allegedly assaulted four Khasi youths, including a member of the FKJGP.

He claimed that they had rushed to the area only after learning that a member of the Federation was looted and assaulted by a group of miscreants along along with three others.

According to Thabah, they managed to nab one of the miscreants and also questioned him on the incident.

“We are not going to tolerate if such attacks continue on the Khasi youth,” said the FKJGP information secretary.
