NPP’s Pathaw to contest from Mawlai in ’23 polls

SHILLONG, March 25: The National People’s Party (NPP) has decided to field Mawlai MDC Teiborlang Pathaw as its candidate for the 2023 Assembly elections.
The Mawlai MDC on Friday formally joined the NPP during a function held at Indoor Stadium, Mawlai Mawdatbaki.
NPP national president Conrad Sangma, who was part of the function, expressed his happiness in welcoming Pathaw into the party.
“We are happy to welcome Pathaw into the party fold since he is a youth icon who has tried to address the unemployment problem through his security agency,” Conrad said.
It was during the function, the chief minister and his deputy announced that Mawlai MDC will be the party’s official candidate for the 2023 Assembly polls.
Conrad also exuded confidence that his party will win maximum of the seats in the Assembly polls.
Meanwhile, Pathaw, said the incumbent government has ushered in positive changes.
“I am happy to be joining a party that cares for the people of the state,” Pathaw said.
