NONGPOH, March 28: A new chapel of Christ School International called ‘Christ Church’ was inaugurated by Archbishop of Shillong Archdiocese Victor Lyngdoh in the presence of co-celebrant Fr Robert Pohrmen, SJ Parish Priest, Umbir.
The inaugural function was attended by the traditional heads of Ri-Bhoi, besides NGOs, teachers, students and parents.
The chapel has a semi-gothic design accompanied with traditional wood envisioning an era of undying exquisiteness.
Earlier, the frontage of the building was accommodating few people during mass hours but in the future, the chapel can accommodate up to 900, says Dr C Varghese, head of the administrative department.
Aspirants of Savio Juniorate choir inspired the worshippers to praise enthusiastically. On the other hand, the catholic community of Nongsder village felicitated the dignitaries and the school’s administrators on the occasion.
