SHILLONG, March 30: A student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Mawphlang, will be one of the select few from across India to take part in this year’s Pariksha Pe Charcha, which is scheduled for April 1.
A class IX student of JNV Mawphlang, Shilla Bishnab is highly eager to take part in the event that will be held at Talkatora Stadium in the national capital.
Airing her excitement, Bishnab says that it is a great honour for her to not only get selected for the programme but also be bestowed with an opportunity to interact with the Prime Minister of India.
Bishnab says that she, during the programme, will ask how the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 will empower the society in general and the student fraternity in particular.
She says she will also ask about the role of the NEP 2020 to pave the way for a New India.
The Secretary of the Education department, Ambrose Ch Marak, on the other hand, said that it will be a great moment for a student of Meghalaya to interact with the Prime Minister of India.
He also informed that the department is making necessary arrangements for the students and teachers in Meghalaya to watch April 1’s programme.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday revealed that the enthusiasm towards this year’s Pariksha Pe Charcha has been phenomenal.
Taking to Twitter, the prime minister said, “The enthusiasm towards this year’s Pariksha Pe Charcha has been phenomenal. Lakhs of people have shared their valuable insights and experiences. I thank all those students, parents and teachers who have contributed. Looking forward to the programme on 1st April.”
It may be mentioned that Pariksha Pe Charcha is a much-awaited annual event in which the Prime Minister responds to questions and queries related to examination stress and related areas posed by students in a live programme.
The students, teachers and parents who will get an opportunity to ask questions to the Prime Minister have been shortlisted on the basis of an online creative writing competition on a bouquet of themes. The competition was organized from December 28 till February 3 through MyGov platform. Over 15.7 lakh participants had registered this year for competition.
Participants who are selected through the competition are presented with a certificate of appreciation and a special Pariksha Pe Charcha kit comprising Exam Warriors, a book written by the Prime Minister.
The event will be live-streamed across various platforms such as TV and radio channels, and select official YouTube channels of Government of India.
