SSA teachers to get two months’ pay

SHILLONG, April 5: Agitating SSA teachers will receive two months’ pending salary within this month as the state government has released Rs 60 crore for the purpose.
Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui on Tuesday said the central government released Rs 68 crore recently and the SSA teachers would be paid salary for two months within this month.
As far as the students who could not attend their Board exams since they were stuck due to landslides and rainfall, the Education Minister said that the government is taking a call on the matter and a decision will be taken in a couple of days.
On the number of students who missed their exams due to landslides caused by incessant rainfall, Rymbui said, “I do not have the record for that particular day. The department will send a report and we will do what is necessary so that students do not lose out.”
