M’laya to get Rs 1,033 crore as deficit grant

SHILLONG, April 8: The Centre will release an amount of Rs 1,033 crore to Meghalaya as post devolution revenue deficit grant. The first instalment of Rs 86.08 crore for the month of April 2022 was released on Friday.
Meghalaya is among 14 states to receive the grant amounting to Rs 7,183.42 crore from the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance as the first instalment.
The grant has been released as per the recommendations of the Fifteenth Finance Commission.
