RESUBELPARA, April 16: Police in North Garo Hills (NGH) on Friday confiscated a huge amount of liquor from various black marketeers who wanted to cash in on the holidays so as to make a quick buck.
According to the police, the raids were conducted by the police personnel from Mendipathar police station following a tip-off about liquor being sold in Manikganj (Mendipathar) and Rari areas. “The drive was undertaken to control unregulated sale of liquor as well as ensure minimum cases of drunken driving took place during the holidays. Necessary follow-ups will be undertaken as well as action will be taken up against the miscreants,” informed NGH SP, Abraham T Sangma.
