SSA Women’s League: Laitkor first team to win

SHILLONG, April 18: Laitkor earned the distinction of becoming the first team to win a match in the newly-introduced Shillong Sports Association’s (SSA) Women’s Football League after beating Onside Sports 5-1 at Polo Grounds, here on Monday.
The 60-minute match saw Ribahunshisha Kharshiing (29′, 42′, 45′, 47′) score a hat-trick in the Group A fixture.
Ilenaki Laloo (33′) was the other scorer for Laitkor, while Makrisha Songthiang (58′) scored a consolation goal for Onside Sports.
Later, Nongkrem and Nongkohlew played out a 1-1 draw in Group B. Na-i-sha Nongrum (30′) scored for Nongkrem before Ephisha Thangkhiew (55′) equalised for Nongkohlew.
On Tuesday, PFR Academy play Rahjingshai at 1 pm while Lumparing meet Maw U-Tieng at 3:30 pm.
