Minor swept away by stream in Tura

Tura, April 22: In a tragic incident, a nine year old child lost his life after he was swept away by the raging currents of a stream in Tura.

According to sources, 9 year old Arian Tengkam M Sangma was returning from his school- the Sonanpara LP School nearby when he fell into the Kongbe stream while trying to cross the raging stream. The victim is the son of one, Suhesh A Sangma and a resident of Srop Gittim in Tura.

The victim’s lifeless body was later recovered by residents, some distance away from Sonanpara locality.

Meanwhile, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh has sought a report on the incident from the Superintendent of Police (SP) and the Rongram BDO.
