Flames engulf cement factory in Byrnihat

SHILLONG, April 22: One of the cement factories, Shiv Polimers, located at 15 Mile, Byrnihat, on Assam’s side, caught fire which rapidly spread to all portions of the factory on Friday night.
More than 10 fire tenders were struggling to control the flames at the time of filing of this report.
The company is said to have lost Rs 40 crore in the mishap.
According to reports, eye witnesses heard a loud blast before the fire was caught. Few workers were initially working inside the factory, but their condition could, however, not be ascertained at the time of the filing of the report.
