SHILLONG, April 25: The Meghalaya High Court has deferred hearing on a matter pertaining to “incidental loot of minor minerals” by one week to allow the Chief Secretary to file her report.
The previous order on the matter passed on April 5, 2022 had directed the Chief Secretary to file a report. “The Chief Secretary will report on the immediate measures taken to check such “incidental” loot of minor minerals when the matter appears a fortnight hence, by filing a report in such regard.”
During the hearing on Monday, the state sought leave of one week to file the report through some other personnel and not the Chief Secretary, as she was on leave.
It was submitted by the Advocate General that the Chief Secretary joined work on Monday.
