SHILLONG, April 25: A family of a Shillong-based woman has accused the family of her deceased husband of harassing her and forcing her out of the house.
Addressing media persons here on Monday, the family of the woman, viz. Jogomaya Ghosh informed that she was residing with her husband, viz. Biswajit Ghosh at Arbuthnath Road, Laitumkhrah, after tying the knot.
After the demise of her husband, Jogomaya continued to stay with her minor son and her in-laws, the family said, maintaining that things then took a turn for worse.
“Her in-laws, viz. Namita Ghosh and Sabita Dutta, with her husband and a daughter, started misbehaving with Jogomaya Ghosh and treated her as a domestic slave,” the family alleged.
The family also alleged that Sabita Dutta and her Shibu Dutta, along with Namita Ghosh, Marina Dutta and Kunal Ghosh forced Jogomaya Ghosh to sign on blank papers, cheques, LIC documents and property papers.
