Statehood day celebration in WKH

NONGSTOIN, April 26: The office of the Deputy Commissioner West Khasi Hills, Nongstoin in collaboration with other line departments organised various events to commemorate 50 years of Statehood on Tuesday, in the new Nongstoin playground.
According to a statement, Chairman State Law Commission and Nongstoin MLA, Macmillan Byrsat was the chief guest of the programme, while Deputy Commissioner West Khasi Hills PD Sangma, former Deputy Commissioner S Kharlyngdoh, other officials, traditional heads, principals and teachers of different school in Nongstoin were amongst those in attendance.
Speaking on the occasion, Byrsat recalled the efforts of the Hill State leaders towards the attainment of Statehood and he urged the students to work hard and be sincere with their reponsibilities so that they grow up to be worthy citizens of the state and nation.
