May Day celebration in Shillong

SHILLONG, May 1: As part of the May Day celebration in the city, a ‘central May Day flag’ was jointly hoisted at the parking lot in Vivekananda Road, Shillong, by veteran trade union leader Manoj Chakraborty, former president of the Meghalaya Bank Employees Association (MBEA), and Pranab Bhattacharjee, president of MBEA on Sunday morning.
Founding general secretary of Meghalaya Joint Council of Trade Unions and Associations (MJCTU&A), Diwpen Dutta, released the annual bulletin of the MJCTU&A.
The May Day programme was attended by the employees and workers of different sectors of Shillong, according to a statement issued here.
