NONGSTOIN, May 4: A 38-year-old man was on Wednesday assaulted by unknown miscreants outside his shop at Mawpun Nongstoin market, following which he was rushed to Nongstoin Civil Hospital.
Police in Nongstoin, after receiving the information, have initiated an inquiry into the case.
According to a statement, the victim, who has been identified as Shaibandon Nongrum, has been referred to Shillong for further treatment.
