Congress gains strength in Umroi

NONGPOH, May 5: Three leaders from Umroi constituency along with their supporters on Thursday joined the Congress, giving the party a much-needed fillip ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections.
The trio, viz. GS Shadap, Josaia Shadap and Rangkynsai Rympeit, after joining the Congress during a function in Bhoirymbong, has assured the party leaders of toiling to strengthen the party ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
The function was also attended by MPCC working president PN Syiem, MPCC vice president P Lyngkhoi, Mawhati MDC Charles Marngar, among others.
Meanwhile, Syiem has expressed his gratitude to the people of Umroi constituency for extending their support to the party.
Alleging that many have been trying to a create misleading impression of the party, Syiem said that the Congress will, despite all the flak, continue to work hard.
