Work on two-lane road project sees good progress

NONGSTOIN, May 5: The work on the two-lane road project from Nongstoin to Chaigoan via Rambrai and Kyrshai has started seeing good progress, especially due to cooperation and support from the local populace.
The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways had floated tenders for the construction of the road project following which a Jharkhand-based company, viz. Spica Projects & Infrastructures Private Limited started the work on May 3.
Meanwhile, the project manager of the company, Amit Som, has informed The Shillong Times that the road project will be completed within two years.
According to Som, the package-I of the 34.09-km road project will start from Nongstoin to Rambrai (Mainop), and the work to widen the existing road at Mawthung Marwei and Mawlieh has already begun.
