SHILLONG, May 7: A three-day awareness camp organised in parts of West Khasi Hills and Eastern West Khasi Hills districts came to a close on Saturday.
According to a statement, the awareness camp, which began on May 3, was organised by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), West Khasi Hills, in collaboration with ICAR-Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research, Karnal, Haryana.
“On 3rd May, first programme was conducted at Langdongdai, an aspirational village of West Khasi Hills under Mawshynrut C&RD Block, with the active participation of about 165 farmers scientists from ICAR-IIWBR, Karnal and KVK officials,” the statement said.
During the programme, trainings were imparted to the farmers on various farm technologies
Agricultural inputs such as vegetable seeds, biopesticides, biofertilisers and veterinary medicines were also distributed to the farmers.
“Such programmes were also organised for Mawkynbat and Phudbah villages — Doubling Farmers Income village on the 5th and 7th May with the active participation of more than hundred farmers for training and input distribution,” the statement added.
