CM announces mission-mode prog to save water source

SHILLONG, May 7: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, on Saturday, announced a mission-mode programme to aid the community efforts for protecting Umsohlang-Umshing stream in Mawlai.
He lauded the communities in the five localities of Mawlai conglomerate for their efforts to preserve this crucial water source.
Participating in a symbolic cleaning drive of the Umsohlang-Umshing stream, which is a lifeline of the people of Mawlai, the chief minister said, “The cleaning drive today is but one step to preserve this water source”.
