SHILLONG, May 9: Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong on Monday said the state government will withdraw the load-shedding once the water level at Umiam Lake rises.
“Let us hope that there is sufficient rain in the state. Once the water in the Umiam Lake goes up to a certain level the load-shedding will be withdrawn,” said Tynsong who holds the Power portfolio.
He added that the load-shedding is currently being implemented only in a few areas for duration of only one to two hours.
“We will try our best from the MeECL side to reduce the duration of the load-shedding,” he said.
