SHILLONG, May 11: The Labour department will ensure that all domestic workers of Meghalaya are covered under e-Shram scheme, said Minister in-charge of Labour, Sanbor Shullai, at a programme organised by National Domestic Workers Movement Meghalaya Unit to celebrate Labour Day at RLSSCO Community Hall, Lumshatsngi, on Wednesday.
The e-Shram portal aims to create a national database of unorganised workers, which is seeded with an individual’s Aadhaar.
The benefits include financial support, social security scheme benefits, job opportunity, Bhima Yojana insurance cover, etc.
