Ex gratia
The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has informed that gratuitous relief, in the form of one-time ex gratia, to the next of kin of the victims of COVID-19 can be availed, and the form for the same can be collected from the office of DDMA/Relief and Rehabilitation Branch, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Shillong or from the office of the Block Development Officer of the respective blocks. “In case the death occurred due to COVID-19 prior to 20.03.2022, the family who wishes to claim compensation is to submit their claims within 60 days from the date of death. For deaths after 20.03.2022, 90 days time is provided from the date of death,” a statement in this regard said.

Farmers’ issues
Former MLA from Uttar Pradesh and Kisan leader, VM Singh, and former MP from Maharashtra and Kisan leader, Raju Shetti, on Friday called on Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhavan to confer about issues pertaining to farmers.
