SSA Women’s League: Mawlai, Lumparing win convincingly

SHILLONG, May 17: Lumparing SC defeated Nongthymmai SC 3-1 while Mawlai SC thrashed PFR FA 7-0 in their respective matches of the Shillong Sports Association (SSA) Women’s Football League, here on Tuesday. Earlier, Lumparing’s Barashisha Kharkongor gave her side a swift 6th minute lead before Markynti doubled the advantage in the 17th. Iaphishisha Marbaniang reduced the deficit for Nongthymmai in the 24th minute but after Inrilaidor Khongthan scored for Lumparing in the 43rd minute, there was not coming back for Nongthymmai. Later, Betshiba Kharsyntiew (22’, 24’, & 32’) scored a hat-trick for Mawlai as they annihilated PFR FA 7-0. Ibashisha Khongwet opened in the scoring in the 4th minute before Rivilda Rynjah made it 2-0 in the 21st minute. Betshiba then scored the next three goals. Rushia Dkhar made it 6-0 in the 34th while Marbarin Nongrum completed the rout in the 43rd minute of the match. On Wednesdya, Thynroit SC will take on Onside SC at 1 pm while later at 3:30 pm, Maw-U-Tieng SC face Nongkolew SC.
