NONGPOH, May 18: The Synjuk ki Rangbah Shnong, Ri Bhoi, has expressed opposition to the notification passed by the Hima Mylliem, which reportedly states that anyone who wants to start or conduct any kind of businesses under its areas will have to apply for a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the office of the Hima Mylliem.
The leaders of the Synjuk ki Rangbah Shnong also met the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) in-charge Elaka, Jambor War, and submitted a memorandum, seeking his intervention into the matter.
According to the Synjuk ki Rangbah Shnong, the order of the Hima Mylliem will contradict the power and dignity of the Dorbar Shnong, and it will also cause unnecessary hardship for the local youths who want to start a new venture.
