Talks on relevance of Raja Ram Mohan Roy in 21st century

SHILLONG, May 21: As part of the commemoration of the 250th birth anniversary of Father of Modern Indian Renaissance, Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Women’s College, Shillong, organised an international series of lectures, underscoring the relevance of the reformer’s ideas in the twenty-first century.
According to a statement, the event, thematised on ‘Raja Ram Mohan Roy in Contemporary Times’, was organised in blended mode from May 17 to 21 to pay tributes to the reformer on his birth anniversary.
“This series brought forth various aspects of the life and contributions of Ram Mohan Roy and the relevance of his ideas in the twenty-first century,” the statement said.
The event was attended by various academicians as resource persons.
