Women’s League: Mawlai, Laitkor set up summit clash

SHILLONG, May 24: Mawlai SC and Laitkor SC clinched their respective semi-final matches of the Shillong Sports Association (SSA) Women’s Football League to set up a summit clash for Friday.
In the first semi-final, Mawlai continued their red-hot form by inflicting a 3-1 loss on Maw-U-Tieng.
Ibashisha Khongwet opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Sidaris Khongwetmade it 2-0 in the 24th.
Lavinia Warjri (29’) reduced the deficit for Maw-U-Tieng but after the break, Rushia Dkhar sealed the match, scoring in the 53rd minute.
Later, in the second semi-final, Laitkor blanked Lawei SC 2-0 after goals by Ribahunshisha Kharshiing (21’) and Solina Jaba (39’).
The final will be played at 4 pm on May 27, at the MFA Turf, Polo Grounds.
