SHILLONG, June 4: The Pynursla block committee of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has accused the NPP-led MDA government of disavowing students studying outside the state by not releasing their scholarships in time.
In a statement issued on Friday, the AITC block unit demanded an explanation from the government on the reason behind the delaying the border area scholarship meant to support unprivileged students hailing from the border areas.  “While there is money to pay consultants of all hues and nature and hold all sorts of money churning events but the government does not have funds to cater to the immediate needs of students,” the statement said.
The unit asked the government to do its homework and not abandon the students who have to bear the rising cost of education and livelihood.
