Meghalaya is COVID-free

SHILLONG, June 4: After a tumultuous innings with COVID-19 which wreaked havoc in the state, Meghalaya is now free from the deadly virus, going by official government data.
As on Saturday, there is not a single active case of coronavirus in the state. Two active cases from Ri-Bhoi district were declared as recovered which brought down the tally of active cases to NIL.
During the two-year-long fight against COVID, as many as 1,593 people lost their lives while a total of 93,826 people in the state were infected with COVID-19.
Recoveries in the state totals 92,233, according to the data.
