Appeal
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Swapnil Tembe has informed that an action plan is being prepared for disposal of garbage in urban areas. In a statement, the DC has also requested one and all in the district to segregate waste at household level as well as to implement the three ‘Rs’ (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) principle. The DC has also suggested the use of cloth bags or any other reusable bag while shopping, so as to avoid polythene or single-use plastic bags. It was also informed that door-to-door collection of garbage through the municipal staff will be initiated soon.
