Trucker hurt in Ri-Bhoi road mishap

NONGPOH, June 16: Another case of a road accident was reported from Ri-Bhoi in which a driver of a tanker truck (ML 05 Q 0280) was grievously injured after his vehicle hit another truck on the National Highway-6 in Downgate Nongpoh on late Thursday.
According to an eyewitness, the truck was carrying some speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit another empty truck (ML 11 1404) which was parked on the main road of the highway. Both the trucks were headed towards Guwahati.
The driver of the tanker truck was stuck inside the vehicle after the accident, and it was with the help of locals that he was eventually pulled out.
Until then, a police vehicle along with an ambulance had arrived at the scene. The injured driver was taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for medical attention.
