SHGs get sensitised on finance management

SHLLONG, June 18: An orientation programme on ‘Saving Preferences and Financial Literacy’ was organised for the self-help groups from Bhoirymbong C&RD Block by the Centre for Development of North Eastern Region (CeDNER) of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong.
The community members along with the Headman of the locality, Sen Thabah, also attended the programme.
Appreciating the initiative, the headman said that event like these enhance the financial knowledge of the community.
Financial Markets Technical Analyst, Proprietor N K Charts, Nishant Kumar, was the key speaker of the programme, who spoke about different techniques that would help increase one’s finances.
Dr Sanjeev K Ningombam, Convener and Secretary of CeDNER, spoke about the centre and its involvement in organising both short-term and long-term programmes relevant to the local community and society.
