Sordar appointed in EKH village

SHILLONG, June 19: The office of the Syiem of Hima Khyrim has officially appointed Teiborlang Wankhar as the Sordar (or village chief) of Massar village in East Khasi Hills by issuing the Sanad (appointment letter), which is in a first after 1990.
The Sanad was issued by Syiem of Hima Khyrim Dr Balajied Sing Syiem
This is the first Sanad issued after the village elected its first Sordar in 1990.
The first Sordar of the village was late Plison Khongsit, who had held the position between 1990 and 2004.
Before 1990, the village was headed by the Rangbah Shnong since 1914-1915. The Executive Committee of Dorbar Shnong Massar has expressed gratitude to the Syiem of Hima Khyrim for issuing the Sanad to the Sordar of the village.
