Complaint against police official submitted to DGP

Tura, June 23: A complaint has been submitted to the Director General of Police, against the Officer in Charge of Jengjal Police Station for allegedly misbehaving and illegally detaining two persons in connection with a case filed against them.

The complaint was filed by Nilberth Ch Marak, a resident of Dawagittim under Williamnagar Police Station in East Garo Hills. According to the complaint, the police official had illegally detained two persons, Kennedy Ch Marak and Jimberth T Sangma on June 21 for 6 hours, violating Article 21 of the constitution.

It was also further alleged the official committed the illegal act in civil dress without his uniform.
